DV110 / The Loview - Skylarking
Skylarking is the first single from upcoming lo-fi instrumental project Wallflowers, produced by UK-based electronic artist Ash Smith AKA The Loview.
Scouring the depths of his personal record collection for inspiration, the artist spent months meticulously crafting, stitching and chopping up material to create a 26-track odyssey through sound, featuring dusty sample collages, dubbed-out bass and a long play feel that manages to pay tribute to both the beattape style and vinyl format in one fell swoop.
Following on from 2020’s psyche-tinged ‘Dreamtempo’, Wallflowers sees the producer taking a deeper turn into instrumental hip-hop territory, whilst bringing ambient and soulful vibes to the fore, and continuing to hone an unusual yet captivating take on the beat genre.
